Trouble Man by KADIR NELSON

What's Going On?

Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today...

The Drifter by Jack Vettriano

You drift thoughtlessly through life
Leaving turmoil in your wake
I was looking for a relationship
But you were only prepared to take
I wanted us to share
All the things that couples do
But being in my twosome
Was unappealing to you
There was always someone lurking
In your mind, it's plain to see
You refused to say goodbye to her
But found it easy to ditch me

Evelyn by Mattahan

Evelyn strikes me as one of those
"tell it like it is" women.
I imagine she is getting a little frustrated now,
because she is waiting for her boyfriend who is running late
for their dinner date.

The Problem We All Live With (or Walking to School--Schoolgirl with US Marshals) by Norman Rockwell

I wonder what she was thinking when she was
walking to school?
Was she excited?
Was she afraid?
I can imagine that her parents afraid for her?
I wonder if this little girl was even aware
of the impact that she would
have on so many lives?

To Be Conscious by Thomas Williams

Be conscious of who you are
and where you come from.
If you don't know your worth
or your history
you will fall for anything.
It's time to
Wake Up!!

And Still I Dream by Edwin Lester

I still dream of a world where people are judged on
their actions and not the color of their skin.
I still dream of a word where we look out for our brothers and sisters
instead of trying to hurt one another.

Our world/country has come so far yet it's going nowhere...
If we don't come together and live the way God has required of us,
we are going to all in up in hell.

Gentle Thunder by Davêd Joaquên

With a gentle breeze blowing...
I can imagine hearing the beautiful tune
she is playing as the wind gently blows on her face

LONELINESS OF AUTUMN By Leonid Afremov

Depending on my mood this piece can evoke two different feelings for me.
One being loneliness.
Feeling as if no one cares...
Then there are days
When I look at this bench and it's surrounding's as peaceful.
I can imagine myself sitting back enjoying the beauty of nature.
Feeling the crisp Autumn air upon my face without a care in the world.
I like having this feeling the most. 😊

Chilling by Monica Stewart

I imagine she and some of her girlfriends
are on a tropical vacation...
She s the only one who is ready to go shopping so
she just sit back and relax...
waiting on the others to hurry getting dressed.

NOT FOR SALE by Gator Girl Art

I know this is a painting of a slave girl...
and I hope I don't offend the artist.
But
When I look at this,
I see a female saying
"I will not sell my soul to make someone
else happy.
If God is pleased with me, that's all that matters."

Stripes on Stripes by Kirsty Latoya (KizArt)

I wear them with
pride.
I've earned them...
I have other things to be more concerned
about than having
stretch marks.

The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born...by NJIDEKA AKUNYILI CROSBY

I can remember being a young girl and reading the magazines
that use to say having wide hips, full lips and
a big butt were a bad thing.
(A trait that most black women have...)

I look at the collage' of pictures of the floor of
all the beautiful black women with those traits.
And I thank God for them.

I hope this young lady is looking at those pictures
to realize how beautiful she is.

The Letter by Keith Mallett

Who is this letter from I wonder?
Is it from her mother who lives in another state?
Is it from her college roommate?
Is it a letter that has bad news?
Is it from an old flame...?
I wish I knew.

Ash by ANNIE LEE

I have a feeling mom is trying to get this little one ready
to attend Sunday service.
But
Before she puts on her clothing she has to "lotion her up".
I laugh because sometimes those are the kids that
are so shiny from all the lotion it looks like someone
has sat them over in a tub of oil.

You may be able to come them greasy or shiny,
but you won't be able to say that they are ashy

Ballad by KEITH MALLETT

I think she broke up with her boyfriend
and she just wants to spend time alone singing....
(I can't make you love me by Bonnie Raitt)

'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't..."
