God's Blessing by KENNETH GATEWOOD

When I look at this,
I can't help but think of the day I held
my first child in my arms for the first time.
At that moment,
I knew I would do whatever it took to protect and keep him safe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
Child of mine.
I will always love you...

Wine and Art by DELILAH SMITH

Looking at the three ladies here,
I have to wonder if they are really interested in the art
or
Are they there supporting a friend?
Are they just there for the free wine?
Maybe they think they will find rich husbands.
Whatever their reason, I just hope they take the time
to see the beauty in the art.

Jazz Cafe by Keith Mallett

The room is quiet...
All eyes are all this beauty.
 She starts to sing...

"Them that's got shall get
Them that's not shall lose
So the Bible said and it still is news
Mama may have, Papa may have
But God bless the child that's got his own
That's got his own..."

Obama Out by Jurell Cayetano

President Obama will always be one of the best
President's ever...
But
I wish I knew what that phone call was about?

My Cup Runneth Over by Annie Lee

This is my favorite masterpiece by Annie Lee.
It brings me so much peace when I look at it.
I know I am blessed beyond measures...
so much that my cup runneth over.

Sweet Dreams by HENRY BATTLE

This is my all time favorite by Mr Battle
because
it reminds me of how I held my children when they were babies.
Everything about a baby is perfect.
I miss those days...

Does it come in 3X? by Annie Lee

I see a beautiful Rubenesque woman who loves her curves
and wants to find something sexy just like the women of her peers
who just happen to have lesser curves.

Harlem Rose by Justin Bua

I can almost hear Billie Holiday singing....

"Southern trees bear strange fruit

Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees..."

One of my aunts had five girls...
I see my cousins when I look at this.
Things were so simple back then.

"Shiner" ("Outside the Principal's Office") by Norman Rockwell

I can only imagine what the little boy whom she
beat up looks like.
😊
I bet he was pulling her hair and she had warned
him not to do it again.

"Glass Of Red Roses" by Artist Nora Kasten

The Rose Family
by Robert Frost

The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But the theory now goes
That the apple's a rose,
And the pear is, and so's
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose -
But were always a rose.

Past and Future Queens by Salaam Muhammad

I look at the queen of the past
and I wonder if
she would be proud of what the queens of now have become
and if the
queens of the future will be any better.

Devil Wears Prada Art Print by Sara Abid

She is at the top of her game...
and she is on her way to work.
People call her "a devil" but she tells them
"The devil has nothing to do with my success, but hard work, determination and the favor of God do."

Above The Dreadful Abyss by Salaam Muhammad

I see depression trying to get the best of her...
But she is fighting with all her might
to not let it win.

RAIN PRINCESS by Leonid Afremov

I have said it before, I love rainy days.
I find them relaxing and romantic.

I am not one to go out in the rain unless I have to.
But watching this mystery woman walk in the rain makes me wonder where she is going. Is she on her way home?
Is she on her way to work?
Wherever she is going, she doesn't appear to be in a hurry nor afraid.
She is taking her time because she has an umbrella and a raincoat to keep her from getting drenched from the rain.
But more than anything she has the favor of God on her life.

Beauty of Love I by Carol Robinson

She thought she knew what love was.
But the child she holds taught her how to love
 and what love truly is.
A mother's love never dies...

Sweet Treasures by John Holyfield

I am looking at a woman who has a "treasure box" left
to her by her loving mother.
Some of the things inside the box have no monetary value...
But it doesn't matter.
They are all she has left of her mother's memory
and she treasures everything as if they were gold.

Spiritual Nap (Male) by Sterling Brown

Yes, he is single...
But instead of taking a taking different women to bed
(outside of marriage)
He decides to read his Bible until he falls asleep.
He knows that the day will come when God will lead him to his queen
Until then, he will become the man God wants him to be.

Spiritual Nap by STERLING BROWN

Yes, she is single...
But instead of going to bed with a man
(outside of marriage)
She decides to read her Bible until she falls asleep.
She knows that the day will come when God will send her a
godly man...
Until then, she will prepare herself for him.

Heaven Sent By Henry Battle

The angels give them one last kiss
before they leave Heaven to go to earth.
What will happen to them once they get to earth?
Only God knows that...

Ladies Night by Frank Morrison

I see women having a good time together without their mates.
A sisterhood of some sort.
But I often look at the ladies and wonder which one of them had to be coaxed into coming out.
Which one is the rowdy of the bunch?
I am sure there is one a little more conservative than the others.
How long have they all been friends?

There are so many questions.
But no specific answer.

Dreamcatcher by FRANK MORRISON

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
~Langston Hughes

Playing In The Water by Georgia Janisse

She is on a family vacation...
She just needs some alone time with her son.
Even though he can not walk on his own, he loves the feel of the
ocean water between his little toes.

Mother & Child Barrington Watson

Peace is the beauty of life.
It is sunshine.
It is the smile of a child, the love of a mother, the joy of a father,
the togetherness of a family.
It is the advancement of man, the victory of a just cause, the triumph of truth.
~Menachem Begin

Pregnant Woman by Claudia Tremblay

“Making the decision to have a baby is momentous.
It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
– Elizabeth Stone

Love Song by Annie Lee

Are they dating?
Are they engaged?
Are the married?
I guess it doesn't matter...
It's obvious that they are in love
and at this moment
that is all that matters.
